Sashi Weerawansa’s Passport Case Trial Dates Fixed

Shashi Weerawansa,  Wimal Weerawansa’s wife   alleged  to have in possession of two birth certificates, 2 National Identity Cards and 2 Passports. On complaint made  Sashi Weerawansa was arrested and subsequently released on  bail .

When the case was taken up today , Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris informed  Colombo Magistrates Court  that  the CID investigation revealed Shashi Weerawansa was in possession of two birth certificates, 2 National Identity Cards and 2 Passports is confirmed.

The Criminal Investigations Department today requested court to order Sashi Welgama to appear before police on the last Sunday of every month.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Lal Ranasinghe ordered the case to be taken up for hearing on the 25th, 30th and 31st of May. Accordingly the Magistrate issued notice to the witnesses in the case, to appear before court on above dates.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate said the verdict pertaining to the case will be delivered when the case is taken up again.
