Rs. 25,000 Fine for Abandoning Dogs on Roads

Participating at a media briefing held in Colombo, Minister of Provisional Council and Local Government, Faizer Mustafa said,  that new  regulations will be formulated to  impose  Rs. 25,000 fine or  six month prison term against persons,   who leave dogs stranded on roads, neglecting the wellbeing of the animal. He further said, that it had been decided to install security cameras to assist with the identification of persons who abandoned dogs in public places.
