UPFA General Secretary Susil Premajayantha today (8) said at a press conference held at the party headquarters that former President Mahinda Rajapakse will contest at the upcoming elections as a candidate from the SLFP and President Maithripala Sirisena has made no conditions for MR.
He stated as such answering to a question made by a journalist if any conditions had been made for MR to uphold.
“There are no factions and groups now” he said, answering to a different question posed by another journalist regarding the authenticity of several news articles stating that president MS has only allowed MR to contend from Hambantota District, Premajantha said that is not true.
“The people will realize the truth in my words come the 13th” he concluded.
