ACMC Determined to go to Courts Regarding Gazetting of Delimitation Notice

ACMC Leader cum Minister Rishad Bathiudeen said, as the gazetting of  the delimitation notice affects the minorities , specially Muslims and up country people, on gazetting  ACMC has determined to go to courts and pray for redress. Final decision will be taken after the political high command meeting. Already he has met the President, Prime Minister  and briefed them. The necessity to revise 70% electoral and 30% proportional representation  system was well explained to them.. In constitutional assembly meetings among other things  although member of  Provincial council  and Local Government  Minister Faizer Mustapha said,  it could be corrected by introducing  an  amendment, there is no possibility to change  the fundamental problem. Democratic principle  cannot be protected  by the conducting elections alone . It should be done in a fair and justifiable manner , Rishad concluded.
