United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) member and Chairman of the Chilaw Urban Council Hilary Prasanna Fernando says that he has signed nomination papers for upcoming general Election on United National Party (UNP) ticket, Political Sources states.
Mr. Fernando who contested the last local government election in Chilaw under the UPFA banner polled the highest majority of preferential votes and was elected Chilaw Mayor.
He said he decided to contest from the UNP ticket considering the request made by his supporters and the present situation in the country.
