Heavy Traffic Around Rajagiriya Area

The government decided to implement a new traffic plan in the metropolis with effect from yesterday (12), in order to drastically reduce traffic congestion in the city.

Followed by this,  heavy traffic has been reported around the Rajagiriya, Borella and Battaramulla areas. Separate bus lanes have been set up from Rajagiriya to the Ayuruveda junction, on either sides of the road due the heavy traffic. The project will continue till 19^th this month.

The new plan will concern buses plying on routes of 170, 190, 177, 168, 153, 176, 144, 186, 174, 175, 150 and 171. The new traffic plan has been drawn up by the Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development, RDA, NTC, the Police, CMC and the Moratuwa University.
