Chinese Government reported to have been observing that Srilanka is tilting towards the West in the recent past. Hence , China has hurriedly arranged a delegation led by Chinese Defence Minister General Chang Wanquan to visit Srilanka. The delegation led by the Chinese Defence Minister has arrived in the island on a three day official visit.
Chang Wanquan was accompanied by a 21 member delegation. The Chinese Defence Minister is due to hold bilateral discussions with several Diplomats.
The Minister is scheduled to meet State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene this afternoon.
The Chinese Defence Minister and his delegation will meet President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe tomorrow morning.
Chinese Defence Minister General Chang Wanquan will also interact with the officers of the Defense Staff College.
