Jathika Hela Urumaya Conflicts with the Government in Co-sponsoring UNHRC Resolution

The Srilanka government reported to have decided to co-sponsor UNHRC resolution on Srilanka granting extended period of two years to implement 2015 resolution. JHU, a partner of the government has vehemently protested against this decision. On behalf of JHU Minister
of Megapolis and Western Development Champika Ranawaka said, that the government should have discussed with other partners in the government before taking such a decision.  JHU will continue to raise its voice in future. Recommendation of the UNHRC cannot be easily implemented. Hence the government should not give any undertaking to implement it. For example hybrid court recommendation cannot be implemented. International community should not try to implement recommendation which has no precedent, he concluded.
