State Plantation Lands Distribution Among Estate Workers

Minister of National Coexistence Dialogue and Official Languages Mano Ganeshan  said, that following a discussion he had with the Ministers,  Kabeer Hasheem and Malik Samarawickrema  his Tamil progressive front delegation had a  discussion with the Prime Minister regarding distribution of land among landless  estate workers in Kandy and Matale areas.

The delegation led by Mano Ganeshan  placed the request  that  apart from 7 perches  of land provided  for housing scheme , this land need to be   given to earn  their living. Prime Minister  has assured  to divide and distribute land belongs to three  plantation companies in  the respective districts to landless Tamil estate workers and adjourning  villagers . It is relevant to mention that distribution of land from these 3 state plantation companies  to private sector and for other govt development plans was suspended.

Member of Parliament ,Velukumar was instructed to collect relevant data in these two districts and submit  to enable further steps.
