The possibility for afternoon thundershowers is likely to enhance during next few days (until 15th of April).
Showers or thundershowers will occur at most provinces of the island after 2.00pm.
Fairly heavy falls (above 50mm) can be expected at some places in the Western, Central, North-central, Uva and Eastern provinces.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
On the apparent northward relative motion of the Sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 05th and 15th of April in this year. The nearest areas of Sri Lanka over which the Sun is overhead today (11th), are Kalpitiya, Kalaoya, Thalawa, Tirappane and Kathiraweli about 12:11 noon.
