Are Bone Fragments Found in Forest in Saliyawewa Belongs to a Missing Police Officer?

A police officer attached to the Anuradhapura Police department was missing as from  4 of April 2017.

Saliyawawa Police had received  information on Sunday 16^th ,  that a set of human bones have been found in the Nilabamma forest area in Saliyawewa. On  inspection,   police recovered born fragments   and a revolver  buried.  Police added that footwear, and clothing could not be found along with the bones, and that the skull bone couldn’t be located either.

Police have speculated on whether or not the bones belong to  the missing  police officer from Anuradhapura?
