Champika to Free the Colombo City From Beggars

Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka  while speaking to  media in Kandy said, that 600  genuine beggars seek to make a living by residing and begging within Colombo City limits. The Minister said those in Colombo who are considered genuine beggars, have either lost a limb or are disabled. In addition  there are also trade beggars  begging along with the genuine beggars.

The Government has decided to  remove all beggars from Colombo and rehabilitated them soon .Very soon Colombo will be free of beggars ,he concluded.
