GL on Luxury Vehicles to Ministers

The Joint Opposition , former Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris addressing a press conference said yesterday that 32 persons were killed in the Meethotamulla collapse of the Garbage dump  and 334 houses damaged. He said, the government’s decision to allocate Rs.1.2 billion for luxury vehicles of ministers  is not acceptable . Referring  to a  Minister’s vehicle  he said, it was a sinful act to spend Rs. 70 million for a minister’s vehicle

Hence, he insisted  that no money should be spent on luxury vehicle by the government for the ministers’ use till the Meethotamulla victims are fully compensated.
