Report on Wellawatta Collapsed Building Handed Over to Subject Minister

The Ministry of Housing and Construction said, the report on investigations conducted regarding  to the building that collapsed in Wellawatte will be handed over to subject Minister Sajith Premadasa today (22).

The report has been formulated by three institutions under the purview of the Ministry of Housing and Construction.

The building in Wellawatte that was under construction at the time, collapsed on Thursday following severe weather. Three persons lost their lives while a further 21 individuals sustained injuries. The third body was discovered buried under the rubble last evening. The injured are still receiving treatment at the Colombo National and Kalubowila Teaching Hospitals.

The owner of the building who surrendered to police was produced before Court and remanded till  26th May 2017.
