Dulanjali Gets Rs 2M Compensation in Counterfeit Currency Case.

A Garment factory owner Rollin M.Perera had taken a loan from Dulanjali Jayakody, daughter of the late President R. Premadasa.
On 25 March 2014 the accused Perera had given Jayakody 403 forged Rs 5,000 currency notes, which was found fraudulent by the private bank at the time Jayakody deposited it.
On complaint made by the Jayakody, a case was filed in the Colombo High Court and heard.
As M. Perera pleaded guilty to the charges, Colombo High Court Judge Gihan Kulatunga ordered M. Perera to pay Rs 2 million as compensation with one year imprisonment suspended for 5 years.
