Met . Department Arranged to Install 200 New Rain Gauges Around the Island

Director of the Meteorological Department, Athula Karunanayake said, that the Department of Meteorology has arranged to install 200 new rain gauges around the island.

He further said that data could be collected every ten minutes with these new rain gauges and accurate predictions could be made about impending heavy rains in future.
