Bill on Protection From Involuntary Disappearance Won’t be Presented in Parliament Today

Bill on protection  from involuntary disappearance was originally scheduled to be taken for debate in parliament  today (5).
In the meantime former Army Commander, Daya Ratnayake and other retired Police and Army Officers met the  Malwatta and other Mahanaayake Theros and explained the danger hidden in this bill to drag soldiers into an international  War Tribunal. They requested the Mahanayake Theras to prevent this bill being taken up for debate  in parliament today (5).
In addition, there was a protest demonstration held  against this bill in front of Fort Railway Station by a National Organisation Front  yesterday (4).
In view of this new development, on advise given by the President, this bill won’t be taken for debate today in parliament.
