The representatives of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) have sought the attention of the Maha Nayaka Theros of the three sects to reconsider their policy to oppose the process of drafting a new Constitution.
In this connection TNA MP Sumanthiran said , the previous Constitutions and amendments did not represent the aspirations and opinion of the minorities. Already the foundation was laid to draft a new constitution.
At this stage , the stance taken by the three Buddhist sects may upset the minority Tamils. They may be compelled to think that the process may come to an end. Hence, thereby he requested the Maha Nayaka Theros to reconsider their standpoint taken in connection with the new constitution.
