At the media briefing of the JO, which was held at Nelum Mawatha yesterday (06), MP Sanath Nishantha claimed that 18 members of the governing party were ready to join the Joint Opposition (JO) and waiting for the opportunity. Most probably they would leave the Govt. Amd join the JO in Sept.2017.
The Deputy Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs, Arundika Fernando and Cabinet Minister Priyankara Jayaratne had already expressed their willingness to join hands with the JO.
MP Piyal Nishantha, who participated in the press brief stated, that ministers of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and young MPs of the United National Party (UNP) were both disappointed with the good governance government, and would soon take a decision to join the JO.
