Another Supplementary Estimate For MPs

 A supplementary estimate was tabled in Parliament today for fund allocations including purchasing of vehicles and renovating official residences of Ministries.

These are provided strictly for the purposes specified in approved Budget Estimates to relevant agencies having carried out a need assessment, giving consideration to relevant financial regulations, and approved procedures.

This supplementary provision does not change the approved total expenditure limits of the annual estimate by Parliament. The allocation of such purposes has been made under the Project of Budgetary Support Services and Contingent Liabilities of the Department of National Budget and it is under the limit of the Approved Annual Budget.

In the meantime,  supplementary allocation of Rs 330 million was too tabled in Parliament to purchase vehicles for Ministers, a Governor and an official on 5^th May 2017, however it was rejected.
