The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Board has decided to release the next loan installment of US$ 167.2 million to Srilanka. The IMF agreed to grant a loan of US$ 1,1 billion within a period of 3 years. With this instalment , Srilanka received total of US$ 501.5 million. The secondary study carried out by the IMF prior to release of next loan installment has revealed a satisfactory economic performance. The IMF has expressed its satisfaction particularly the Inland Revenue Act, which will assist Finance combination and Tax and resources of social development.
