Mattala Airport to India

Mattala International Airport  was built by  the previous regime with financial assistance from China .But  it was running at  a loss.

In order to make Mattala International Airport as a profitable venture,  Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva  submitted a  cabinet paper seeking Cabinet approval for a 40-year lease of the Mattala International Airport to an Indian company.
