2018 Annual Budget in November

Sources from Finance Ministry revealed that the annual budget for the year 2018  will be presented in Parliament in the 2^nd week of November 2017.

Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera will hold discussions  with the MPs of the UNP  on the 8^th of September and thereafter he will hold  discussion with the MPs of  other parties. Proposed discussions are scheduled in order to obtain observations of the MPs on the budget.

 A  special Parliamentary sittings will  be arranged to present the budget.  Debate on the budget will commence  from the next day. Followed by this, second reading of the budget  will take place and voting called.  Subsequently  committee stage debate will take place  in respect of fund allocation to Ministries and budget activities will be  completed in December 2017.
