Staff Sergeant & Corporal Involved in Rathupaswala Shooting Further Remanded

The Rathupaswala shooting incident  took place in 2013, which resulted in the death of three youths, Akila Dinesh, Ramila Ravishanand Nilantha Pushpakumara and left twenty six individuals including several journalists injured. This incident took place  during the protest held against contamination of drinking  water.

After the Good governance Government inducted, new investigations have commenced  and suspect were remanded. Gampaha Chief Magistrate D.A. Ruwan Pathirana has ordered  the Staff Sergeant and the Corporal, who were involved in the Rathupaswala shooting incident in 2013, to be further remanded till September 20 .

 But, Brigadier Anura Deshapriya Gunawardena,who was the commanding officer of the contingent which fired shots at protesters in Rathupaswala and Sergeant Lalith Gray were ordered to appear in court on November 1.
