72nd UN General Assembly Regular Session to  Begin Tomorrow

The 72nd regular session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will be commencing tomorrow (12) at the United Nations headquarters in New York, USA, and will draw to a close on  25^th September 2017.

Topics  under  environmental education, environmental conventions, social development, technology and innovation, and water and sanitation have been scheduled  in the session’s agenda.

The General Debate opens on 19^th September will focus on the theme, ‘Focusing on People: Striving for Peace and a Decent Life for All on a Sustainable Planet’.

President Maithripala Sirisena will be attending the United Nations General Assembly session from 19^th September onwards.
