US Navy Ship Lewis and Clark in Srilanka for Training Exercise

On Monday (2) the United States Navy Ship Lewis and Clark arrived at Sri Lanka’s Trincomalee port to participate in the Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training Exercise (CARAT) – 2017.
The U.S. Pacific Fleet commenced CARAT Exercise with Sri Lanka Navy yesterday (02) in Trincomalee. The exercise will continue until 6th October.
The ship which is 210 m in length and 32 m in width features a helipad which is capable of providing landing facility for 2 helicopters. The ship, after completion of the training exercise, is scheduled to leave for the next port of call on 06 October.
