MP Namal Rajapakshe was summoned to the Hambantota police today (10) to record a statement regarding protest demonstration carried out by the Joint Opposition under his leadership around Mattala Airport, which has been banned by the court.
He appeared before the Hambantota Police yesterday (9) and requested to allocate another date for him to make statement. However, Hambantota Police refused to grant another date. But directed him to appear today (10) at 5PM.
