Nine Treasure Hunters Nabbed

Following a tip off received by Habarana Police, police raided  a demarcated place  in Habarana, Palugaswewa forest and arrested nine men, who were engaged in  treasure hunting.

The Police seized a backhoe, rock drilling machine, mining equipment and several other equipments with the suspects,  who are residents of Habarana,Dambulla,Kantale,Inamaluwa, Police said.

They will be produced before the Kekirawa Magistrate’s Court today (12)

Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by Habarana Police.
