In replying to a question raised by Anurakumara Dissanayake under Standing Order No: 23(2), Minister of High Education and Highways, Laksman Kiriella said , that compensation will be paid to victims of Gintota trouble. He said this in the parliament today (24) and elaborated stating that the government is bound to protect all citizens irrespective of their race, religion or ethnicity.
Speaking on this subject , Minister of Parliament Reform and Land Minister Gayantha Karunathilaka said that steps have already been taken to pay compensation and police was briefed how to deal with the complaints.
