Price Control to be Introduced in Private Sector Hospitals Soon

Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Rajitha Senaratne  while  participating in an event held in Temple Trees yesterday (27), ) to  award appointment letters to Health Sector Employees, said that a price control will soon be introduced for private sector Hospitals.

He further said, that ‘’Health Service is not merely a business. It is a service from the time of Lord Buddha. Profits should made under certain limitations” , former President Mahinda Rajapaksa did not allow incumbent President Maithripala Sirisena, who was the then Health Minister, to implement the Seneka Bibile’s Policy.

”The former President even robbed the file. However, we took steps to bring down the price of nearly 400 drugs during the reign of the incumbent President. It took 45 years to implement Seneka Bibile’s Policy,” he  concluded.
