Inauguration of “United Peoples Front” to Protect Muslim’s Stability

As a strategic move All Ceylon Muslim Congress National Leader Rishad Bathiudeen in association with the senior politician cum former Secretary to the Srilanka Muslim Congress Hassen Ali formed the “ United Peoples Front “ to gather scattered Muslim votes in certain parts of the country to ensure Muslim representation.
After a long deliberation both of them decided to inaugurate the “ United Peoples Front “ and made the announcement in a press conference held at the Kollupitya Renuka Hotel on Sunday (10). Politically experienced Hassen Ali will function as the leader of the “United Peoples Front “, Rishad announced. This front will contest in Ampara district local councils under peacock symbol, where Muslims are in majority in the forth coming local government election, Rishad said. At this press conference Rishad made it clear, while All Ceylon Muslim Congress being a partner in the United Front Government, it will contest along with the United National Party in most local government bodies and contesting in some local councils on their own is under consideration, he concluded.
