Railway Department Calls Contract Employees For Continuous Duty

Engine Drivers, Controllers, Superintendents  and Station Masters, who  are on contract employment are called for active duty  immediately.

General Manager of  railway  Mahanama Abeywickrama  had made this request.

He said, that this step was taken in addition to calling retired railway employees for active duty to restore train services.

Department of  railway is empowered to take  appropriate steps to restore train services after the declaration of railway services as essential service.
