Rosy Senanayake Tipped to be the UNP’s Mayoral Candidate for Colombo

Former Parliamentarian Rosy Senanayake is tipped to be the UNP’s mayoral candidate for Colombo, party sources said.

Currently, she is the Deputy Chief of Staff of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinge.

Although Rosy Senanayake contested the last Parliamentary election on the UNP ticket, she failed to secure a seat in the House.  Rosy Senanayake, if elected, would be Colombo’s first female mayor.

Prime Minister Wickrmesinghe had expressed willingness to field Senanayake as the party’s mayoral candidate for Colombo.
