Rs. 14.5 million which was being taken to be deposited at a bank was robbed in Nuwara Eliya around 8 am today (2). Money was being transported in a small lorry from a cigarette agency to be deposited at a private bank.
Then 2 unknown persons, who came in a three-wheeler had blocked the road and had thrown chili powder at the lorry driver and the agency employee, before fleeing with a bag containing cash.
Further investigations are carried out by Nuwara Eliya police.
