No Confidence Motion Against Speaker?

Joint opposition member of Parliament Prasanna Ranatunga said, that the Speaker of Parliament is expected to be independent and impartial. But Speaker Jayasuriya is seen as being partial. Hence, the joint opposition is considering  to submit a no-confidence motion against the Speaker of Parliament, Karu Jayasuriya.

However, a final decision has not yet been taken on when to submit the no-confidence motion, Ranatunga said.
