Fare Meters For Three-Wheelers Compulsory From Tomorrow

Ministry of Transport informed all three-wheel owners  to install metres in their three-wheelers by April 1. Three wheeler members, in response, said that it is difficult to install metres immediately and requested the Transport Ministry to extend the date. Accordingly, the deadline was extended to April 20.

All three-wheeler taxis should be fitted with meters by April 20, National Council for Road Safety (NCRF) Chairman Dr Sisira Kodagoda said.

The three-wheel taxis must also issue a printed bill to the passengers for their fare indicating the distance, fare and taxi details from April 20.
