The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress women’s wing in Kattankudy joined the United Peoples’ Freedom Alliance (UPFA), pledging its support to the campaign of M.L.A.M. Hisbullah.
Earlier main SLMC members also crossed over to All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC). Thus, this move can be considered as a major debacle of SLMC starts with this.
A group of 500 women under the leadership of Women’s Wing leader Salma Amir Hamza announced their support to the UPFA at a recent press conference.
This comes several days after former Democratic Party District Organiser Sivageetha Prabhakaran joined the UPFA.
