May 1 Holiday Cancelled : May 7 Declared as the Public & Bank Holiday

The Public and Bank Holiday on May 1 had been cancelled and May 7 has been declared as the Public and Bank holiday instead.

The decision to move May Day celebrations to May 7 was made by the government on request of the Mahanayake Theros, to avoid the celebration coinciding with the Vesak full moon Poya day.
