Low Interest Rate Loan to Businessmen Affected In Recent Kandy Violence

The cabinet at its meeting held on 15^th May considered the cabinet paper submitted by the Minister Lakshman Kiriella and granted approval to grant loan at low interest rate of 2% subject to a maximum limit of Rs 1 million to affected businessmen, whose properties had been damaged or destroyed in recent Kandy violence.

Earlier the cabinet its meeting held on 20^th March 2018 decided to grant a loan at 2% interest rate subject to a maximum of Rs 500,000. This has now been revised to Rs 1 million.
