Compensation of One Lakh For Each Disaster Death

The Disaster Management Center has announced that the government has decided to grant Rs 1 lakh per person died during recent disaster. Arrangement had been made to give Rs 15,000 immediately to victims to enable them for final funeral rites through respective Grama Niladhari . Balance 85,000 will be paid on submitting the death certificate.

Funds had been allocated separately for districts affected by the prevailing bad weather. Up to now 10 people had died in this natural disaster.

In addition, Disaster Management Center has taken steps to provide relief to those, who are affected by the prevailing inclement weather.
