Weerawansa Says 20A Detrimental to the Country

While speaking during an event in Chilaw, Leader of the National Freedom Front Parliamentarian cum Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa said the proposed 20th Constitutional amendment will result in a power struggle between the Central Government and Provincial Councils. In addition it will destabilise the state system.

MP Weerawansa further noted the 19th Amendment complicated the state system adding the 20th Constitutional Amendment will further complicate matters.

Hence, he claims the proposed 20th Constitutional Amendment will be detrimental to the country and it is a political conspiracy hatched by the JVP.
