COPE Sittings Today

First sitting of the Committee On Public Enterprises (COPE) under the 8^th parliament is scheduled today.

It was proposed to appoint the same members of the last COPE  to the  new COPE, except replacing  MP Weerakumara Dissanayake with MP Jeyantha Samaraweera.

Today selection of a member as Chairman is on the agenda. Most probably COPE former Chairman JVP’s MP Sunil Handunnetti will be reselected for it, political circles said.
