(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – Police on Tuesday (21) used tear gas and water cannons to disperse University student protest march near the Higher Education Ministry in Town Hall.
The Police said that Ward Place in Colombo has been closed for traffic from Town Hall due to the on-going protest by Inter University Students’ Federation (IUSF).
The protest commenced following the consent of the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court, to hold the protest without inconveniencing the public.
However, the protesting University students were barred from entering Public Institutions.
