(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – President Maithripala Sirisena in his capacity as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces has extended the service of Major General Shavendra Silva, Army Chief of Staff, till 31 December, effective from 22 June.
Major General Shavendra Silva is also the Colonel of the Regiment, Gajaba Regiment and Colonel of the Regiment, Commando Regiment.
He was appointed to the Office of Army Chief of Staff on 09 January, 2019.
