Committee Report on Batticaloa Uni to be submitted to President: Ashu

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – The report prepared by the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Education and Human Resources regarding the Batticaloa Campus (Pvt) Ltd. would be presented to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the Cabinet of the new government, Committee Chairman Prof. Ashu Marasinghe said during the committee meeting held yesterday at the parliament complex.

The report was presented to parliament on June 21, 2019, and was subsequently presented to the Cabinet of ministers of the then government.

The report has recommended that considering the security situation of the country, monies received by the institution, unlawful constructions and forcible acquisitions of crown lands, the government should acquire the university under the emergency law and pursue legal action against the culprits.
