President urges public to stay at home, practice social distancing

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – The public have been urged to stay at home and practice social distancing during the 3-day holidays declared from today (17).

Govt has declared a 3-day holiday till 19/3 to minimize public interactions in curbing spread of #COVID2019. This is applicable to all public and private entities except essential services. Please support the effort by staying home & practice social distancing.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa tweeted stating that the Government had declared a 3-day holiday from today to Thursday to minimise public interactions in curbing the spread of the Coronavirus.

This is applicable to all public and private entities except essential services.
