The annual feast of St. Anthony’s Church in Katchatheevu is set to get underway on a grand scale today(11) and conclude tomorrow.
The new St. Anthony’s Church in Katchatheevu, built by the Sri Lanka Navy, was bestowed on the Roman Catholic Diocese of Jaffna on 23rd December 2016.
Around 9,000 devotees from both India and Sri Lanka are expected to take part in this year’s feast.
Srilanka Navy sources said, they will be provided meals, infrastructure, sanitary facilities, drinking water and security for the feast as well as the devotees attending will be provided by the Navy.
