Kerosene Price Increase Compels Fisherman from Fishing

All Island Fisheries Unions President Aruna Roshantha said the discussions they had with the authorities seeking a reduction in kerosene prices were unsuccessful.

Hence unions say that they will not venture into the sea from today in protest of the recent increase of kerosene price.

Further,he said that will launch an island-wide strike from Monday.

The fishermen from Negombo and the Southern coastal belt from Dehiwela to Beruwela will join the strike action.
