A four storied hostel was built at the Peradeniya University to accommodate 400 students in 100 rooms. It had been named in memory of late Minister Lalith Athulathmudali to recall the services he rendered to university students. It was scheduled to be opened under the patronage of the Finance Ministry Secretary but the students opposed the move.
In the meantime, a group of people has destroyed the name boards of the four storied hostel built at the Peradeniya University.
An internal investigation has been launched in connection with the destruction of name boards of new students’ hostel at the Peradeniya University.
