Period of Secretariat for Coordinating Reconciliation Mechanisms Extended

Secretariat for Coordinating Reconciliation Mechanisms was established after the Good Governance Government was formed. Period was fixed for 2 years as from the year 2015. Former President Chandrika Bandaranayake Kumaratunga  was entrusted with this task. Having considered the importance of educating the masses on reconciliation efforts taken by the government, Prime Minister Ranil Wicremasinghe has submitted a cabinet paper extending its’ period by further 2 years up to 31 st March 2019. The Cabinet has approved it.
